Key Stakeholders and Their Interest

The NHS as well as Sainsbury's has many stakeholders who are also affected by projects, plans, investments and etc within the health centre. The table below shows some of the key stakeholders who are involved with the NHS: Key Stakeholders What makes them stakeholders? Patients Patients are both interested in the NHS as well as affected by it. E. g. having a local clinic or hospital and a drug supplier may be very beneficial for them, however in case that particular local area does not have any of these, it would be difficult for patients to consult their doctors.

Tax Payers Tax payers are also interested in the NHS projects and investments as they provide the funds through taxation. They are also affected by it in case of changes in the tax rates, e. g. in case of a recession taxes may alter and it would therefore have an impact on tax payers. Government The government also has a huge interest in projects, plans and investments for the future within the NHS, as it the government that decides how much money will be spent on health care each year.

They are also affected in certain circumstances, e. g. if a huge and expensive project fails, the government may look bad as well as being blamed for not studying the project enough and etc. Staff Staffs are also stakeholders as everything that happens to or within the company affects them. As well as that they also have interest about the funding, as it is with that money that they will get paid.

Chemist/Drug Suppliers Local chemist or other drug suppliers are affected by the company too, e. g. each season the NHS may demand larger or lesser amounts of a specific drug. Also they have an interest about the NHS funding, as again, it is with that money that all drugs will be paid for. Local Community Local communities are also affected in case whether there is or not a local clinic or hospital. Local communities are also interested on how the local clinic or hospital works, their staffs and what events and campaigns are being held in order to minimise health problems, diseases and etc.

Conclusion of Both Companies: Both Sainsbury's and the NHS have various differences due to the sector in which they are in, their objectives, goals, interests and most importantly the audience they are targeting. These can be seen on the list below: * Sector is one factor which differs Sainsbury's from the NHS i. e. Sainsbury's aims is to make a profit and expand its business, whereas the NHS aims at providing a service by breaking even, meaning it spends all the money it receives without making any profit.

The goals and objectives between them are also different, as Sainsbury's overall goals and objectives are to provide its customers with a good service and make a profit from it, whereas the NHS aims at providing a service to as many UK residents as possible without making any profits. Their interest is also different as Sainsbury's main interests are to attract as many customers possible, beat its competitors, grow its market space and most importantly complete all these purposes profitably. The audience is one factor which can be a difference as well as a similarity between the two companies.

I. e. Sainsbury's audience is customers who are looking to buy products or services, whereas the NHS audience is patients who need a service or a treatment but will not need to pay for as they already pay their taxes. However they also have a few similarities which include some alike stakeholders and purposes, as seen on the list below: Some of their stakeholders can be the same, as Sainsbury's customers could also be NHS patients, and they could also have the same suppliers as well as belonging to the same community and etc.

As mentioned above their audience can also be the same, as they may be targeting the same people but with different objectives. Both companies also have some similar purposes which include providing a range of service and products with great quality, respecting patients/customers details by keeping them safe and using them for the right purposes only, and also by treating their staff as the heart of everything they do, achieve or acquire.
